Bring Your Imagination to Life: An Introduction to Scoring & Performance with Joy Cosculluela

Held at historic Mountain Home Studio, Kentfield, California

This workshop is part of Friends of Tamalpa ArtCorps, a series of workshops that feature very special guests and whose proceeds benefit ArtCorps, Tamalpa’s social engagement program.

What if you had an idea that you wanted to explore in making a dance or a performance piece? What if you had a map to guide you along the way and bring your imagination to life?

If you experience the arts as a non-linear process and want to explore ways to shape your creativity, join us for an introduction to scoring and performance.  This workshop draws from Anna and Lawrence Halprin’s prolific body of work, including the Life/Art Process and the RSVP Cycles. Participants will be introduced to the basics of scoring and performance-making: generating resources, themes, intentions, and activities.  In this workshop participants will be grounded in somatic practice and movement-based expressive arts. Writing and drawing are integrated in this approach. Participants will design and perform their scores and take home resources for further discovery and personal use.

This workshop is designed for everyone. No previous experience in dance/art needed.

Art materials provided.
