Join us for an enriching four-part online class series, where we delve into our wild wise bones to explore the profound connection between our skeletal system and our overall sense of self. Dubbed the “indestructible life force” by the insightful Clarissa Pinkola Estes, our bones form a crucial foundation surrounded by muscle tissue, ligaments, and fascia.

In this carefully curated class series, we will explore how grounding our awareness in our bones can foster a sense of clarity, equanimity, pleasure, playfulness, and curiosity, allowing us to fully embrace the present moment. We will utilize the Tamalpa approach where the bones are sensed, felt, and imagined through movement, drawing, and creative writing practices.

If your bones could speak, what would they say?

Class themes:

August 6 | Class 1: Wild Bones

Reimagining.  Enter under the skin of La Loba or The Wolf Woman is a short archetypal story by Clarissa Pinkola Estes that will transport you into the bare bones that lay scattered in the vast landscape of your being.

August 13 | Class 2: Wise Bones

Embodying the Bones: Through embodied anatomy and somatic movement explorations you’ll learn to sense and attune to the alchemical life, resilience, and potency in your bone tissue and marrow.

August 20 |Class 3: Sacred Bones

Collect and gather the bones you need to sing over and bring to life a part of you that needs renewal.

August 27 | Class 4: Mythic Bones

The bones whisper and talk among themselves mythic stories; through the joints they articulate those stories in movement and dance. If your bones could speak, what would they say?

Open to all. No dance or art experience needed. Only a willingness to explore!

To get the most out of this online class, please prepare a comfortable space to move in with access to your online device and reliable internet service. If you are using a handheld device, such as a pad or phone, please be sure to use a stand for your device so that it is held securely in place.  You will want to have your hands free and be able to move freely and safely during movement exercises without worrying about your device falling.  Also, have art supplies ready at hand for the drawing activity and paper and pen for journaling and creative writing exercises.

Please note: Tamalpa does not record nor permit the recording of any classes or workshops due to the sensitive and sometimes vulnerable nature of the work, and to protect student privacy.

What prior participants have said:

Marialuisa’s work has provided rich nourishment for my mind, body and soul in it’s unique blend of theory, practice and spiritual depth.  She offered scientific knowledge as a scaffold through which to enter somatic experience, which in turn acted as a gateway into a deeper connection with myself and the mysteries beyond. Her gentle focused presence, attentive listening and heartfelt aesthetic responses created a safe and trusting space despite the limitations of an online connection.  – Katy Menell
