Sunday, October 2 | 10 AM- 1 PM Pacific Time | $45
In this workshop, we tune in to “rooted” through our somatic-imaginal bodies. We’ll connect with the “sacrum” which means sacred or holy bone, the “root bone” that spreads our weight downwards to the earth and also like the keel of a boat, supports the head and the spine.
To find our length, to find how we rise and spread out, we’ll explore our roots, the landscape that we depend on. What are your roots? How do you connect to the marrow of the bone, down into the earth, move up, spread out to the heart, the throat, the hands?
We’ll explore movement resources from Anna Halprin’s somatic practice that help stabilize and mobilize the body and the Tamalpa Life/Art Process® that open pathways for creative expression. Drawing, writing, and witnessing give voice to the stories that live within us and create connection.
Open to all. No dance or art experience needed.
To get the most out of this online series, please prepare a comfortable space to move in with access to your online device. Also, have art supplies ready at hand for drawing activities, and paper and pen for journaling and creative writing exercises.
Please note: Tamalpa does not record nor permit the recording of any classes or workshops due to the sensitive and sometimes vulnerable nature of the work, and to protect student privacy.
