Who have I been, who am I now, how will I revision myself?
In this workshop exclusively for graduates of the Tamalpa training program, Daria will present a series of Life/Art questions for you to explore through embodied movement and art making. You will be led through the creation of self-portrait drawings that will serve as visual maps on your journey of self embodiment. Daria will guide you as you inhabit your drawings and reflect on their meaning and message using movement explorations and poetic narratives. Performative acts of healing will be invoked to inspire the recreation of new images and myths to live by. Strategic steps to bring your learnings forward into your daily life will be shared.
Please come to the workshop with a self portrait drawing already created to be explored.
Please create the self portrait you wish to explore before the workshop. Have the drawing with you and also a photograph of the drawing to be shared with the group. Please download the photo of your drawing to the computer or device that you will be using prior to the workshop so that the image can be shared with the group via share screen.
Have visual art materials handy for additional drawing that will take place during the workshop.
To get the most out of this online workshop, please prepare a comfortable space to move in with access to your online device. A stable internet connection is needed to provide the best quality experience on Zoom. Also, have art supplies ready at hand for drawing activities, and paper and pen for journaling and creative writing exercises.
