Tuesdays July 7-28, 10-11:30AM PDT
In honor of Anna Halprin’s birthday month, this series will focus on Anna’s movement for performance work. Develop your creative movement dynamics, work with elements of space, time, and force, and cultivate performance presence using Anna’s Life/Art Process for performance. We will also practice the use of aesthetic response as a mode of feedback as witnesses. We will be performing for and witnessing each other with the intention of openness, experimentation, and appreciation. This class is open to people of all levels.
To get the most out of this online class, please prepare a comfortable space to move in with access to your online device. Also, have art supplies ready at hand for drawing activities, and paper and pen for journaling and creative writing exercises.
Iu-Hui Chua has performed for Anna Halprin in Parades and Changes, En Route, Seasons III, Awaken, Stomp, Spirit of Place, At the Origin of Performance, as well as works in nature at Sea Ranch and Angel Island. She is core faculty at Tamalpa, has been a lecturer at UC Davis, and has taught the Halprin and Tamalpa Life/Art work internationally since 2008.
