Koret Auditorium of deYoung Museum
In conjunction with Anna Halprin: Body Radical, join Halprin and and Director of Public Engagement, Elizabeth Thomas for a discussion around the publication of the new book Making Dances that Matter, forthcoming from Wesleyan Press in 2019. This book traces Halprin’s philosophies on using dance as a powerful expressive tool for healing, learning, and mobilizing change. It includes accounts of two dances, Planetary Dance and Circle the Earth: Dancing with Life on the Line, as well as step-by-step processes for bringing people together to enact them. Advance copies of the book will be available for purchase in the Museum Stores.
